Unification of Information in more than 300 offices

SUCCESS CASE ON INFORMATION UNITY

Client: Te creemos

With more than 25 years of existence, Te Creemos is one of the strongest microfinance institutions in Mexico. Through their resources and instruments, they seek to boost entrepreneurs and encourage business development. To fulfill their purpose, they are governed by three axes: microcredit, savings and productive activities. In 2013 it was awarded the first place as a microfinance institution in the country. They have more than 300 offices nationwide, between branches and corporate agencies, and more than 4400 collaborators.

Need and challenge

The operational efficiency that the sustained growth of Te Creemos demands has led the institution to continually review its technological strategy. This is a task with certain levels of difficulty, because there is a risk that the work rate will increase faster than the technical additions. In order to counteract this situation, in recent years a significant effort by the company has consisted of being one step ahead of the business demands, in anticipating the requirements.

We are talking about an environment that is difficult to tackle also due to the market battle presented by Fintech companies. Also, by the constant reconfiguration of customer wishes. So to be successful in the technological project and to emerge victorious in the fight for competitiveness, the unification of information has been essential.

Consolidating the entire accumulation of data for a financial company that generates around 4,000 files every day to be sent to the headquarters, from several dozen offices distributed throughout the republic, has been a challenge. A challenge between Wundertec and Te Creemos, not only in software development and implementation. It has been the same manner in training material and cultural transformation so that there is an increase in efficiency. Considering this, the alliance between both organizations has involved a hard task to achieve a balance between the management of the technological factor and the human factor.

The solution for the unification of information

Originally, Te Creemos's operational information was handled in Excel format and stored in different databases. The aforementioned made the action of executive reports take at least two months, not a prudential lapse for the sector. Based on its functional characteristics, the process to centralize all operational information required module after module work.

After examining the needs of the various areas of the firm and understanding accessibility and mobility as a key requirement in the digital age, it was decided to migrate to the Amazon cloud - AWS-. The decision represented an important change for the organization in terms of infrastructure. From there, the waiting times would be shortened and a good part of the bottlenecks detected would be eliminated.

Implementation

Operating in the cloud has provided fast and reliable results in a security framework: one of the characteristics that the developed solution should have. At the same time, the type of software architecture has allowed us to transcend from the traditional spreadsheet to more complete systems based on business intelligence. Thus, decision-making has been streamlined. Today, progress is being made in the reorganization of these areas.

With the first analysis carried out, after the start-up of the development, an approximate increase of 15% was found on Te Creemos's net income.

Currently, due to the acquisition of the company by another financial company that has more than 600 branches, it is being evaluated to incorporate the information from these offices into the system and maintain a single platform for business growth.

Technological Alliance

The Te Creemos and Wundertec relationship dates back to 2015 when the study of the technological needs of the microfinance institution began, focusing on the optimization of processes and the maximization of resources.

Regarding the unification of the information, the firm had tried to materialize the project with at least three technological companies, without obtaining favorable results until the incorporation of Wundertec was formalized.
